Sentrient vs CliniBase: staff training and practice learning

Shortlist Sentrient for workforce learning, assessments and training reporting. Assess CliniBase for practice-specific instructions, linked learning and the daily tasks that use them. The choice depends on how broad your training programme needs to be.

Training programme or operational learning?

Sentrient's healthcare learning management system serves clinical, allied health and administrative teams. It describes assigned courses, assessments, searchable policies, learning events and completion reporting by team, site or service.1

Keep specialist training requirements visible

For a large mandatory training programme, list the required assessments, reporting groups, repeat schedules and in-person evidence before comparing products. Ask Sentrient to demonstrate those requirements. A general learning acknowledgement should not be treated as an equivalent assessment.

For a recurring operational instruction, test CliniBase's shorter loop: review the guide, assign the relevant learning and connect it to the work the teammate needs to do. Its scope excludes patient, clinical and sensitive HR content.2

If two systems are necessary, keep each learning requirement in an agreed place and document who reconciles completion. Avoid copying every course into a second platform without a reason.

Test a starter's first week

  • Separate mandatory workforce courses from the practice's opening, supplies and handover instructions.
  • Use a fictional starter and show the relevant assignments in each system.
  • Change one operational guide and check whether the correct version is assigned.
  • Review what each record proves: acknowledgement, assessment result or observed practical work.

Practical questions

Can CliniBase replace our mandatory training LMS?

Do not assume it can. Verify your course, assessment, repeat-training and reporting requirements individually. CliniBase focuses on practice-specific nonclinical learning and work.

Does a completed course prove competence?

Completion, an assessment result and practical competence are different kinds of evidence. Your practice determines which checks are appropriate for the role and task.
